| My name is Jamison Geyer, but my friends and competitors know me as "GYRO". I started driving derby cars in 1997 when I turned 18 years old. So far I have been in 17derbies around NW Ohio, as of the 2004 season. Check out my other pics on the photo page |
The 44 story Ever since I was a little kid, I've always gone to my County fair here in Ohio, and in the 1980's there was a driver that was always the best. His name was Chris Kiser. He'd always have a mid 70's GM station wagon, and every year he won. Armed with a giant P.A. speaker, on the roof of the car, and a number 44 on the driver's door, he'd mop up the competition and always come out on top with a 1st place trophy. All my friends had their favorite super heroes, Superman, Joe Montana, and Michael Jordan. Mine was Chris Kiser. I could'nt wait to get to be the age to drive a Demolition Derby car! Well, years went past, and I got to run a lot of derbies, and in 2003, I was assigned the number 44 at the Erie County fair. I ran my Chrysler New Yorker, and didnt do so well. So I took it to my county fair. And in front of all my friends, family, and my favorite champion, I took First Place. With a Kiser Sound P.A. Speaker on the roof and a number 44 on the door! It was the absolute best day of my life! There's nothing in the world like winning your first demolition derby! So thats the story, and now I run with a 44 on my door instead of my original number 2j. Maybe later on down the road I'll switch to something that combines them. 244 maybe? |

Thank You goes out to: Rudy's, Kiser Sound, & Brough Photo Thanx for visiting my site. gyrotee@aol.com |
I have recently started cutting this car apart. The crossmember under the tranny bent, and ripped the bolts right out of the tranny! I guess I had the Torsion bars cranked a little too much! |
